The First Postgraduate Conference in ELT

English Language Department of Allameh Tabataba’i University is pleased to announce the First Postgraduate Conference to be held in Khordad, 1388. The conference aims to cover issues related to English language teaching with a specific focus on discourse analysis and interlanguage pragmatics.
Abstracts are invited for talks or posters on the following major (but not limited to) themes of the Conference:
- Discourse Analysis and Interlanguage Pragmatics
- Language Testing and Assessment
- Evaluation of Syllabus Design and Text Books for High schools and Universities
- Language Teaching Methodology
- Technology and Language Teaching

Important Notes

The conference will be held on Khordad 4th, 1388.
All postgraduate or graduate students who are interested in attending the conference (including those whose papers are accepted) should register for the conference (Go to "Registration"). Every participant, including the presenters, should pay 100,000 Rials on the day of the conference.

Every participant can get a certificate of participation by paying 50,000 Rials more than the registration fee on the day of the conference.

Abstract Submission Guidelines:
- Papers sent to the conference should be original, not published, and not presented in any conference in any form.
- Papers accepted for the conference are scheduled for a 20-minute presentation, with 10 minutes allowed for discussion, comments and questions.

Abstracts for papers and posters that address any issue related to the English language teaching, and testing in Iran and particularly the abstracts on the following categories are welcomed:
- Discourse Analysis and Interlanguage Pragmatics
- Language Testing and Assessment
- Evaluation of Syllabus Design and Text Books for High schools and Universities
- Language Teaching
- Technology and Language Teaching

To submit your abstract, use the CONFERENCE PROPOSAL FORMS. These forms contain authors' biography (50 words), a short summary of the work for the conference program (80 words), and rather a longer summary of the work (400 words) for selection purposes. These forms should reach the conference board not later than 7/2/1388 (Ordibehesht 7th, 1388).
- The notification of acceptance or rejection of the abstracts will be sent to your email.
- The presenters whose papers have been accepted have to attach their PowerPoints, using Microsoft Office 2003, Style: Times New Roman, Font: 12 and should be sent as attachment ten days before the conference.
- Presenters have to be Postgraduate or Graduate students (Excluding Faculty Members).
- The exact day of the conference will be announced later.
- All postgraduate or graduate students, who are interested to attend the conference (including those whose papers are accepted) should register for the conference (Go to 'Registration'). Every participant, including the presenters, should pay 100,000 Rials on the day of the conference.
Criteria for Proposal Selection
- Proposals fulfilling the following criteria will be considered for selection:
- Innovative nature of the work

Informative title (not more than 15 words)

Clear statement of the purpose, problems or questions addressed
- Soundness of research methodology and findings
- Authors are asked to submit their abstracts using the 'Conference Proposal Forms'.
